2009 version here.
2008 version here.
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
I didn't really have a prediction for this year, but I'd say...a lot less in the first half, a lot more in the second half, so it evens out.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in 2009?
Mycroft/Sherlock. In other words, M/M incest. (Notice how I have a qualifer there before the word incest?)
I also ventured into Deep Space Nine, which was a pleasant surprise.
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
Heart-and-soul wise, I'd have to go with 原点 (Origin), as it was fearfully and wonderfully made.
Did you take any writing risks this year?
I posted NC-17 fics in Chinese. Even one with D/s flavor. I also endured endless mocking (:P) from my Chinese fandom friends for getting into a brothercest ship. O tempora o mores!
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
I will let the bunnies decide that one, as always.
Most Fun:
An Indecent Proposal. I really had a blast writing it. The translation by
gwen7 was awesome too.
Oh and the Sherlock BBC x Five Star Stories AU framework was fun as hell too. The shamelessness of it all!
Most Disappointing:
No major disappointment this year, although An Interview with Mycroft Holmes' Umbrella, OBE and Confucius Says didn't come out quite as funny as I'd hoped. The latter was salvaged somewhat by
asukajude's translation though.
Sexiest Story:
I was told that The Dragon Charmer was very hot by various people, which made me a bit relieved because I was worried about the first-person POV. On the Chinese front, I'm guessing 蜕变 (Ecdysis)? That or 原点 (Origin) again.
Sexiest Moment:
Personally? I'd go with Mycroft biting on the underside of Sherlock's jaw in Ecdysis. /shrug
Story Most Under-appreciated by the Universe:
I really liked What the Cardassian Moon Saw a lot and it actually had a very serious message. However, it was OC-centric for a relatively obscure series so I didn't expect a wide readership anyway. Otherwise, On a Field, Sable.
The Most Frightening Thing:
The heart ships what it ships. I offer no contest nor resistence.
Hardest to Write:
You are Warm in My Handthis one was painful, painful, PAINFUL.
dissociate had to listen to me whine ENDLESSLY about it.
Most Unintentionally Telling:
A lot of the Sherlock BBC pieces are, especially the ones that focus on Mycroft. So...I'm guessing Throne and Dead Nerve.
