Fairy Godmother: Rebecca Luker
Stepmother: Harriet Harris
Gabrille (Stepsister #1): Marla Mindelle
Charlotte (Stepsister #2): Ann Harada
Sir Sebastian: Peter Bartlett
Lord Pinkleton: Phumzile Sojola
Jean-Michel: Cody Williams
Good points: We got really good orchestra seats for rush ticket prices. And the costumes, staging, choreography etc were sumptuous. Some well-received in-jokes. Oh, and "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful?" was pretty cool.
Not so good points: To quote The New York Times, "for a show that’s hawking T-shirts that read “I can be whatever I want to be” (a Hammerstein lyric), it doesn’t seem to know quite what that is." cipher0099—"you can totally tell the writer thought this story was ridiculous too but had to earn his living somehow."
On the whole, this production had some good parts, but I was thoroughly unmoved.
The Moral of the Story: This is what cheap tickets are for! (I feel likecipher0099 took one for the team....)
